Story Hub

Welcome to the Climate Dice Story Hub

Here you will find examples of stories written after playing with Climate Dice. You will see pictures of the dice that were rolled at the top.
Would you like to have your story included in our Story Hub? It’s easy! Just tell us your name, age and which dice you rolled, together with your story, and we’ll choose at least one to feature in our Story Hub each week. Happy (RE)imagining! Send stories to:  hello@climatedice.com or post your stories/images/videos on social media and tag us @ClimateDice or use #ClimateDice.

One day I was out walking when a smelly diesel car went past me and made me cough. Then I saw a factory with so much smoke coming out of the chimney it made me cough even more. A cheetah ran past me, but it was really slow because it couldn’t breathe. I went home and had a shower to get rid of the smell, then I went and looked at the flowers in the garden. That made me feel much better. The next day, I told my teacher and she helped me write a letter to the manager of the factory about how the smoke had made me cough.

One day, I was reading a book about penguins. Then I fell asleep and had a bad dream. A penguin was very sad because all the ice was melting.

‘Hurry, hurry, you must do something,’ she said.

I woke up feeling very worried. How could I help the penguin? I told my mum and she said lots of grown-ups are already trying to do that, but we can all do little things to help the world. We walked to the shop and bought some flower seeds and planted them in the garden.

One day, I was riding my bike when I had to stop because people were marching down the road holding signs and banners. I put my bike under a tree and watched them go by. One of the signs said ‘Save the sharks!’ I started laughing. ‘Sharks don’t need to be saved!’ I shouted. ‘We need to be saved from the sharks!’

The girl holding the sign came and talked to me. She said many kinds of sharks are becoming endangered, and they are very important for lots of other sea creatures. Now I love sharks, and I’m trying to think of ways to save them too.

Once upon a time there was a polar bear. She took me on a train all the way to the top of a mountain. The polar bear read me a story, then we had a drink from plastic cups but the polar bear left hers on the ground. A dove flew past and said ‘Take your rubbish home with you, don’t leave a mess on the mountain!’ The polar bear said, ‘Sorry, I will.’
